Swiss Cooperation Programme in Tanzania 2026–29
The Swiss Cooperation Programme 2026–29 supports Tanzania’s vision of becoming an upper-middle-income country by strengthening institutions and expanding economic opportunities, particularly for young and vulnerable people.
The programme focuses on two interconnected areas:
- Strengthening efficient, inclusive and sustainable systems and institutions; and
- Improving youth livelihoods and strengthening civic space
Switzerland maintains a strong focus on supporting health, governance and civil society, and private sector development.
Across all its projects, Switzerland promotes gender equality, supports efforts to address climate change through adaptation and mitigation, and advances good governance principles.
The cooperation programme contributes around USD 20 million per year.
